Most Civs have their abilities improved on or redone completely and there are a lot less civilizations with nothing interesting to offer. Any Civ which functions similarly to how they function in Civ 5 standard (off-hand: England, Rome, Babylon, Assyria, Egypt, Persia, Greeks, Polish) it gives you slightly less of a hard time trying to figure out which might be some of the better policy trees to aim for as the. Happiness is now based on meeting your citizen's needs (gold, science, culture, and protection) rather than acting as a hard cap on population. Rome, much like in normal Civ V is a good bet for Vox populi Civ 5. If you don't found a religion, you can take over a religion from someone else and gain benefits as though you had founded it. Religion is heavily buffed and useful enough that I regularly invest in it. Ideologies are unlocked by completing 3 policy trees rather than building Factories. For your first try, I advise to use the version (7-29-1) > Vox Populi Automatic Installer It's also recomended to reinstall a clean Civ5 BNW before. Culture is now a more important yield since policies are required to build Wonders, policies are all-around stronger in general. Tons of stuff is reworked and rebalanced, most notably the crappy anti-horse/tank line of units is removed/merged, the ranged line actually stays ranged, and there's now a ranged mounted line. City-state diplomacy is revamped and you gain favor by sending unique diplomatic units, adding a geographical effect. I tried to run the game, however, when Im about to start, during the loading screen where your leader is displayed, I noticed the game screen wasnt being completely shown in the Monitor screen. I have played it in the past with no problems. Haven't played with SMART AI, but can confirm that the VP AI is hugely improved over the original. I just got Civ 5 installed again in my computer.
